Maternal and child health handbook

The Maternal and Child Health Handbook is an important booklet in Japan used to record and manage health information related to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting.
When you find out you are pregnant, you can obtain it free of charge from your city, ward, town, or village office.

This handbook allows you to record various types of health information for both mother and child, including prenatal checkups, delivery details, your baby’s growth, and vaccination records. It also provides helpful advice on parenting, along with explanations about breastfeeding, weaning (introducing solid foods), and immunizations.

In addition, versions of the handbook and related leaflets are available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Easy Japanese.
